Les Arcs sits above Bourg st Maurice, the main transport town for the Alps. You can catch a train from London and wake up in the Alps.

Just been out in La Plagne. We stayed in the centre in a chalet hotel right on the slopes with ski in ski out which was great! The weather was fantastic and considering they haven't had much snow this season, the conditions were fantastic - I'am and intermediate / advanced boarder and found it great - not much to go on off piste but having been there in past years I know there are some great secret spots on the mountain!Expensive to eat and drink but not as bad as other resorts like Tignes Val and Courchevel. We found Scotty's early on in our stay which is the busy English bar in the Centre. Really great classic food and good service, also some amazing bands in the nights with a ski raffle as well - although I didn't win that one!I would definitely recommend the resort for all levels of skiing and I'll definitely be going back next year!

My first ski-ing experience resulted in a sprained ankle when I slipped off the coach step and landed badly, resulting sitting in the bar for the whole week! therefore I would love to win a skiing holiday so i can learn to ski and i would be very careful getting off the coach!

Visited La Plagne last year - had a great time. Friendly people, great scenery.

Hi We ski in France every other year (it used to be more before kids). We have always had great snow, even when our holiday was in mid-April!. Lat year we skiied in Belle Plagne which had great skiing for our kids and a huge area for us.

I have always fancied going on the piste but just never been top of my priorities, I was also led to believe it was full of sloan rangers and hooray henry's, let me win and I will write you a real honest down to earth review upon my return.
